When the team from Château DIY got in touch, our first reaction was something close to panic mode. A camera crew working on our vineyard, during a renovation, with cattle in the fields and Bruno trying to get on with the winemaking. It sounded like a recipe for chaos. Chateau DIY is a popular day time Channel 4 documentary series that follows English families who've acquired château’s and rural properties and are doing the hard work of bringing them back to life. No polish, no shortcuts, real budget pressures, building surprises, and long days that come with it. Our episode is no different. Château DIY Official Instagram Post
We said yes anyway.
The episodes follow the renovation of our farmhouse at Château Méaume. The estate was taken over by Mark & Sandra from Mark’s uncle in 2019 with a clear plan for the old stone farmhouse sitting at the edge of the property. It had been empty for years. It needed a full overhaul: new roof, new floors, new plumbing, new kitchen, all of it. The idea was always to turn the farmhouse into somewhere guests could come and stay on a proper working vineyard in the middle of Bordeaux, not a polished holiday park.
If you've been following our story, you'll know the farmhouse opened in 2025. If you're arriving here for the first time after watching the show, welcome. We bought a 230-year-old wine estate, and we've been figuring it out ever since, and the farmhouse you just watched us renovate is now available to book, here on our website.
It sleeps eight to ten people and sits at the heart of the estate. You wake up on a working vineyard, fifteen minutes from Pomerol and twenty-five from Saint-Émilion. Bruno, our winemaker, has been here since 2010 and knows every inch of the place. We do tastings, cellar tours and vineyard walks. Come in September and there's a chance you'll end up helping with the harvest.
Our newly renovated farmhouse is built from traditional local stone in the style of our region, the kind of material that takes time to work with.
We're not a hotel. We've never tried to be. You get the run of a farmhouse that's been part of this estate for generations, a wine tasting with the people who made the wines, and access to an estate that's been producing spectacular Bordeaux wines since 1795.
The episode airs on Friday, 17th April 2026 at 5pm GMT. If the farmhouse is what you came looking for, the booking link is below.
