When You Can Come
We keep the groups small so there is time to talk, and we host on the same days through the harvest. Please book at least a week ahead so one of us is free to host you.
Days and Times
April to October, Tuesday to Saturday, between 2pm and 6pm.
How Long
An hour to an hour and a half, with a walk through the vines before the tasting.
Group Size
Up to ten people, booked at least a week ahead.
Who Can Come
Everyone on the visit needs to be 18 or over, because we pour wine.
A Tasting in the Cellar
Come and taste our wine in the cellar where it is made, with the family who make it. Château Méaume is a working vineyard on the Right Bank of Bordeaux, 15 minutes from Pomerol and 25 from Saint-Émilion, and from April to October we welcome small groups for a walk through the vines and a tasting in the cellar.
We don’t charge for tastings. We simply trust you’ll find something worth taking home.

What Happens on a Visit
Mark usually hosts in English, and Sandra hosts in French. A visit starts outside among the vines, where you can see the clay and limestone our Merlot grows in, then moves into the cellar to taste, usually one white and two reds. Allow an hour to an hour and a half, and bring your questions, whether they are about the soils, the vintage or when a bottle will be ready to drink.
The Wine in Your Glass
Our Bordeaux Supérieur is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, grown on our Right Bank estate. It is made by Bruno Bertrand, who has worked here since 2010 and trained under Michel Rolland, and recent vintages have received 90 to 95 points from James Suckling, The Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck and Kenichi Ohashi MW. You can see the full range on our wines page.

Request Your Tasting
Tell us the day and time you would like to come, how many of you there are and whether you would like the visit in English or French, and we will reply by email to confirm. We ask everyone in the group to be 18 or over.
Getting Here
We are at Maransin in the Gironde countryside, 15 minutes from Pomerol, 25 from Saint-Émilion and about 50 from Bordeaux city, so you will need a car, and whoever is driving is welcome to taste and spit. If you are planning a day of tastings, our guide to Saint-Émilion wine tasting explains how to fit us in around the châteaux near the village, and our article on Bordeaux wine tours compares guided tours with planning your own visits.
Stay for Longer
If one afternoon is not enough, our 18th century farmhouse on the estate sleeps up to ten, and every stay includes a tasting in the cellar with Mark and Sandra.
